I don’t actually know how they are about following people, but I’d bet Torch and David are most likely to do so, they seem more likely to interact with readers, which suggests they are at least looking at the comments.

Because to be ungreyed on a kinja blog, an author  mod or owner needs to follow you, and the FP guys often don’t get around to that unless you ask them.

It stems to people being awful. Once upon a time no one was gray but then  people went all internet and were really fucking awful. I mean, way past being mean to others. Mutilated animal levels of fucking terrible.

This is sort of a middle ground. You stay gray until you are deemed not a pyscho and the authors/kinja overlords lift you out of the gray’s.

to put a finer point on what the S2000 guy said, reddit/*chan descended on Jezebel and relentlessly spammed comment sections with violent porn .gifs. That was the Mass Grey Epoch. After they did that, authors across blogs would un-grey you by having the blog “follow” you. Unfortunately, the longer it’s been since the Mass Grey Epoch, the less and less likely they’ll notice you and un-grey you.

I’m not that used to the greys because I stay away from the front page comments, but I’ve gotten quite a few in my Corvette post from yesterday here on Oppo. They are almost amusing.........almost.

It is a good reminder of the general civility of Oppo.

Pretty sure they were called a Savanna RX-7 in Japan until the final gen.

So if a commentor wasn’t from the US, or the car was imported, they would be correct in calling it a Savanna RX-7.
